We particularly would like to thank our customers for a rewarding experience watching their cattle, and ours, grow to be such high quality and productive cow herds. During the 27 years of "The Right Combination Bull Sale", our direction hasn´t changed or strayed from fad to fad. We have focused on total production. All the cows calve unassisted every year with a healthy calf that doesn’t need help to nurse and with a weaning weight of at least 650 lb. The average adjusted 205 day weight of these calves is over 750 lbs. Adaptability is the key for reproduction of high growth carcass cattle. Structural correctness is an emphasized trait in our program as well. Thick tops, extra long sides and correct feet and legs for longevity in the pasture are a must. Genetics are extremely important for Ken Haas bulls. Our herd bulls now (as in the past) are offspring of the top Angus cows in the breed. K C F Bennett Performer and H A Power Alliance 1025 are sons of two former Number 1 Ribeye Cows in the Angus Breed. The Herd Bulls in our program also have proven to have outstanding daughters as well. Exar Expand 1241 is the maternal grandsire of two of the three bulls in the Grand Champion Pen of Three in Denver 2007. Our Herd Sires and Reference Sires are some of the industry’s finest calving ease bulls. We are confident that our bulls will not only give calving ease but performance and maternal traits as well. The cow bulls will increase your weaning weights and have shape, style and growth. No large birth weight bulls are included in the sale. High carcass cattle with feed efficiency are in great demand and our bulls exceed the breed average. Some of our bull customers are averaging 650 lb weaning weights, a four pound per day gain in the feedlot, and weights up to 1400 lbs at 14 months. Carcass data for some of our customers’ cattle include a premium over $100. This sale offers several sire groups from which to select, including several outcrosses to New Design and Precision, bloodlines. Many of the bulls are sired by the industry’s best Herd Sires that are tops for high carcass cattle, maternal and growth traits. Lot 1 is sired by the Number 1 IMF Bull of the Breed and offers calving ease. His mother is an outstanding New Design 928 daughter known for growth and top carcass. Lot 2–12 are all sired by S S Objective T510 0T26, sire also to our high selling bull last year to Three Trees Ranch in Sharpsburg, GA. Our Lot 2 bull is as good as we have produced, by a moderate framed Twin Valley Precision E161 daughter. He is 6 Star for Feed Efficiency and 4 Star Tenderness gene. Every Bull is registered and their full pedigree and performance EPD’s can be viewed online at www.angus.org or www.kenhaasangus.com. Ken feeds the bulls himself on the ranch. Feed consists of a growing ration including ground millet hay, corn silage, wet beet pulp, corn, oats, liquid supplement and Natures Way. This is a personal invitation to you to come to the sale: enjoy lunch; view the sale bulls, herd bulls and the replacement heifers. If you are not able to attend the sale, please give us a call and we can buy you the bulls you need, satisfaction guaranteed.
Sincerely, We would like to take this opportunity to Congratulate Maureen and Jim Skavdahl of Marsland, NE winners of the CAB 2007 Commercial Commitment to Excellence Award. They have purchased bulls from Ken Haas for over 20 years. Congratulations to our neighbors at Thaler Land & Livestock the recipients of the 2006 NCBA National Environmental Stewardship Award. |
